In another bit of foreshadowing, as the crew is preparing for the ’80s party, Jake’s thong is so small and tight that his crotch has to be blurred while he’s wearing it. “It’s Mother Nature giving your ass a wake-up call,” he declares. Captain Lee says he hasn’t seen wind this bad in 35 years of yachting. Jodi speaks for all of us when she says, “That’s so cool somebody get a video of that!” And the best part is that no one gets in trouble because the wind was just too strong that it literally snapped the line keeping the trampoline in place. And that trampoline FLIES! It’s almost equally comical to watch the crew rushing onto Jet Skis and the tender to save a trampoline, of all things. It’s just a perfect moment: The deck crew is talking about Jake shitting on his girlfriend (more on that below, obviously), and then everyone seems to scream “whoa!” at once, and we know what’s happened. The first of multiple times I absolutely howled laughing during this episode was, of course, when the trampoline flew away. It becomes a brilliant moment of foreshadowing - once I hear Alexander mention the trampoline and then see the crew setting it up, I know it’s eventually going to fly across the sea … just not when. I always worry when a big, surprising event gets teased to death ahead of an episode, but once again, the Emmy-nominated Below Deck editors know what they’re doing. Oh, and the trampoline, which Alexander can’t wait to jump on. Otherwise, the talk of the morning is Rachel’s breakfast (great, as always), the upcoming ’80s party (Heather is excited, even if she wasn’t alive in the ’80s), relationships (Heather is used to being away from her boyfriend, whom I forgot she had Fraser is “craving male attention” and doesn’t want to keep being single Jake wants Heather’s help to set up Wes and Jess), and Ronnie turning 75 (Alexander guesses he’s turning 81). “I’m sick of it all,” he declares, and he means it. We’re back on deck, where Eddie continues to tear into his crew about all the shit that’s been blowing off the boat. So like Jake and Fraser, let’s waste no time diving in (underwear optional). Regardless of what Heather thinks of that dinner, I say this is five-star service. Reader, I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard at a Below Deck episode.

It is a story that begins 13.8 billion years ago at the Big Bang, continues through the births and deaths of countless stars and the formation of the Earth, and culminates in our rare world populated today by Darwin’s Endless Forms Most Beautiful, each and every one related to a common ancestor that emerged almost four billion years ago in the deep oceans of the primordial Earth. "Why do we exist?" is a question we can answer in broad sweep and quite remarkable detail. There are questions beyond our value that arise when we begin to explore Nature, however perennial questions of existence. That would make it hard to argue that we are insignificant. Imagine the possibility that Earth is the only place in our galaxy where a single thought exists or has ever existed. Without minds, there are no thoughts, and without thoughts there is no meaning. Whatever meaning is, it emerges from the human mind. Our fragility and isolation surely confer value. The galaxy of the future will be meaningless again, as it may have been for almost all of time. There will be nobody to explore the Universe for millions of light years in every direction because nowhere else will life have made the journey from prehistory to thought. If we do not survive there will be no love, no science, no art, no music. If it is true that we are alone, we are the only island of meaning in a sea of 400 billion stars. I will explain why I think this is possible, perhaps even likely. Why should our future matter? My answer is it’s possible that Earth is the only planet in The Milky Way Galaxy that has ever hosted an intelligent civilisation. We won’t find meaning through the lens of a telescope, but neither will we find meaning if we avert our eyes from Nature and, through fear or lack of curiosity, refuse to contemplate the Universe beyond. The central idea behind The Symphonic Universe is that music and science are two of the ways we explore both are necessary, neither alone is sufficient. Insight into the meaning of both can only be gained by exploration, and there are many ways to explore. Nature is undoubtedly both beautiful and terrifying, but then so are our lives. Astronomy doesn’t render the quest for meaning futile it amplifies the challenge. Having said that, the search for answers is in itself an important part of what it means to be human. As one of my heroes Carl Sagan wrote, astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience anyone who claims to have THE answer is not humble and is also wrong. I don’t claim to have THE answer of course. The Symphonic Universe is part of my personal search for answers. The questions raised by our observations of the Universe are profound to put it bluntly, when confronted by the size and scale of the Universe, what’s the point? Modifiers can unfortunately not directly be used in place of triggers or effects (but see this workaround), usually an effect from for example a national focus, would add an idea (national spirit) that From the convoy attacks in the Battle of the Atlantic to the fierce carrier battles on the Pacific front, the Second World War saw naval innovation in both tactics and technology. 11, both introducing changes and features that seek to shake up combat on the Eastern Front. the Waking Tiger DLC probably give the best advantage that you can assign 2 traits to your generals.

Not only is it catchy and hugely popular, it also features a sample from an another unexpected guest. The part-originators of old-school Philadelphia Soul, it's no wonder Drake sampled 'Back Stabbers' - the lyrical theme completely mirrors that of 'Fake Love'.Īnother one to add to the AubRih collection, 'Too Good' is the ultimate follow-up to 'Work'. Legendary R&B group The O'Jays hit it big with this track. 'Summer Sixteen' samples 'Glass Tubes' by Brian Bennett Following Meek's swift response, they have continued feuding since. Used to promote 'Views', 'Summer Sixteen' caused a stir in the Hip-Hop world as the song acted as a diss track towards Tory Lanez and Meek Mill. It also samples 'It's My Party' by Lesley Goreĭrake reworked some lyrics from 'It’s My Party' into 'Take Care' - “It's my birthday, I'll get high if I want to / Can't deny that I want you / But I'll lie if I have to,” the rapper sings. With the help of Jamie xx himself, Drake managed to turn the English producer's remix of Gil Scott-Heron's 'I'll Take Care Of U' cover into an R&B classic. 'Take Care' samples 'I'll Take Care of U (Remix)' by Jamie xx and Gil Scott-Heron But 'Take Care' isn't actually a truly original song. Five years on, and the relationship rumours are still flying, with the pair even getting matching shark tattoos. 'Take Care' marked the second collaboration between Drake and Rihanna. This ambient piece runs through 'Started From The Bottom', adding to the atmosphere and consistent tone of the track. 'Work' samples 'Sail Away' by Richie Stephens and Mikey 2000 Along with it's infectious beat and raunchy video, there's also a rather special sample that helps add to the track's iconic status. Hip-Hop's ultimate OTP teamed up earlier in the year for this Dancehall banger. The star admitted that she struggled to "play it cool" when she heard Drake had used her voice on 'Poundcake'. Yep, that heavenly vocal sample is from none other than Brit-pop singer Ellie Goulding. 'Poundcake' samples 'Don't Say A Word' by Ellie Goulding But there is also an unlikely guest appearance from this track's featured singer. Taken from Drake's third studio album 'Nothing Was The Same', the rapper enlisted the help of Jay for 'Poundcake'. Timmy Thomas provides the hooky melody and funky bassline, contributing to the song's success. This 70's soul anthem runs through the entire track. 'Hotline Bling' samples 'Why Can't We Live Together' by Timmy Thomas However something that isn't commonly recognised, is the sample used throughout. The video went viral due to Drake's 'dad dancing', which sparked thousands of internet memes. First up is Drizzy's 2015 smash hit 'Hotline Bling'. When the monolith had appeared in Utah, many people had theorised that it might be the work of an artist who’s an ardent fan of Arthur C Clarke’s 2001: A Space Odyssey some even suspected that he/she removed it from Utah after people started finding its exact coordinates. Whether someone has just given it dust curls with their fingers or it’s an engraved design, is not exactly clear. In contrast to what could be seen in picture’s in Utah’s monolith, the one in Romania seems to have some kind of a pattern on it. Now, a third metal slab has appeared atop Pine Mountain in Atascadero, California. Both the possibilities, in all honesty, are a bit unsettling. Metal monolith mania has swept the world in the past two weeks. We’re inclined to believe that this is a different monolith altogether, because otherwise someone either transported the one in Utah over 9500 km to Romania, or the structure sprouted some sort of wings and did it on its own. It was spotted a few metres away from the Petrodava Dacian Fortress - a fort built by the ancient Dacian people between 82 BC and AD 106, and a famous archeological site. The prism-shaped structure was found on Batca Doamnei Hill in the city of Piatra Neamt, in northern Romania. That, however, is not the end of the tale of monoliths, because now, a very similar looking metal structure has been found in Romania, a week after the one in Utah vanished. Monolith that was found in Utah/Dailymail And then, lo and behold, it mysteriously disappeared - allegedly removed by an ‘unknown party’. Local officials counting sheep from a helicopter spotted it, and were perplexed by its presence and nature. Case in point - the mysterious monolith that was found standing in the middle of nowhere in Utah, all sleek and shiny. “We were kind of joking around that if one of us suddenly disappears, then the rest of us make a run for it.Just when you think 2020 can’t possibly get any weirder, it does.
